Apeology privacy policy
Release status: Apeology is not yet publicly released. This policy describes the intended launch configuration and will be verified against the production build before store submission.
The short version
Apeology does not require an account and apeNmachine does not collect or store your quiz answers. The app is free and supported by a Google AdMob advertisement. Google’s advertising SDK processes limited device and ad-interaction data to serve and measure that advertisement.
Information you provide
No personal information is required. If you add a display name to an Ape ID card, it is used on your device to render the card and is not transmitted to apeNmachine. Quiz answers and results remain in app memory and clear when the app closes.
Advertising data
Apeology is designed to show one interstitial ad between the quiz sections. Google AdMob may process device or advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and ad-interaction data for ad delivery, aggregate reporting, frequency limits, and fraud prevention. The app requests non-personalized ads by default. Google processes this data under its own policies.
Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy and its explanation of information from partner apps.
Consent and controls
Where required, including in the EEA and UK, Google’s User Messaging Platform presents consent choices before advertising is served. Available controls can be used to manage the choice later.
Device permission
Photo-library access is requested only when you choose to save an Ape ID image. The app does not use the camera or read existing photos.
What apeNmachine does not collect
The planned release has no apeNmachine analytics, crash-reporting service, user account, or first-party backend. We do not collect names, email addresses, contacts, precise location, camera images, biometric data, health data, or browsing history through the app, and we do not sell personal information.
Children
Apeology is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age where they live. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Retention and security
apeNmachine retains no quiz or profile data. Advertising data is handled by Google under its retention practices. Advertising requests use encrypted HTTPS connections through Google’s SDK.
Changes
We may update this policy as the production app or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the current version.
